RN Operating Room Transplant

Join UCHealth's transplant surgery program as an RN in the Operating Room at the Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora, Colorado. This position supports a specialized liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant team performing both open and robotic surgical procedures, including robotic donor hepatectomies for living liver donation and robotic kidney transplants. You will work with advanced organ preservation technology including OrganOx and VitaSmart perfusion systems in a fast-paced, innovative surgical environment.

Clinical Setting

You will practice in the Operating Room and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a perioperative setting. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice aligned with AORN and ABPANC core curriculum standards. Clinical educators will support your specialty education and competency validation throughout orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in perioperative and PACU settings
• Support time-sensitive transplant procedures within a multidisciplinary team approach
• Participate in call rotation as required
• Contribute to safety and quality at the point of care
• Model proficiency and precept new team members as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with card in-hand before start date; BLS or CPR card must remain valid through sixty days after hire
• Minimum six months of Operating Room experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification
• Transplant surgery experience
• Robotic surgery experience
• Organ perfusion background

Schedule and Compensation

This is a full-time position working 80 hours per pay period (two weeks) on day shift. The role is onsite only and does not offer hybrid or remote options.

Pay ranges from $38.91 to $60.31 per hour, dependent on relevant experience.
