RN Operating Room - Part Time

Thompson Peak Medical Center in Scottsdale, Arizona is seeking a part-time RN for the Operating Room. This position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and involves circulating duties in the OR Main department. The role operates on a day shift schedule of 3-8 hours, Monday through Friday, with call required.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a busy operating room environment at Thompson Peak Medical Center, part of HonorHealth, one of Arizona's largest nonprofit healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

As an OR circulating nurse, you will:

• Collect health data systematically and prioritize data collection based on the patient's immediate condition or needs, involving the family in the process
• Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses and develop individualized, family-centered, developmentally appropriate, and culturally relevant plans of care
• Identify expected outcomes specific to each patient and their health problems
• Implement interventions in the plan of care, including initiating treatments, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures based on standing orders, policies, and procedures
• Provide nursing care to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of patients and families
• Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes and document observations, interventions, therapeutic measures, and multi-systems monitoring data
• Maintain and enhance patient outcomes while promoting cost-effective, high-quality healthcare
• Evaluate your own nursing practice against professional standards and relevant regulations
• Integrate ethical principles in all aspects of practice and enhance knowledge of cultural and diversity needs
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
• Develop and evaluate evidence-based standards of care
• Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care
• Provide direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides regarding patient care and delegate when appropriate
• Precept new hire staff and students, assisting them in completing competency skills
• Support efforts to advance clinical knowledge and skills

Required Qualifications

• RN Operating Room circulating experience required
• More than 10 months of medical-surgical or acute specialty setting experience
• Active Arizona RN license or compact state licensure at time of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved BLS training course
• Associates degree or diploma in nursing (all diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire OR have 5 or more years of registered nurse experience, including direct patient care or indirect RN roles, at time of hire)
• Unit-specific certification as required by specialty area

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• National certification for unit-specific patient population
