HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Peri-operative team as an Operating Room Ortho Navigator. In this role, you will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to deliver quality intra-operative care. You will provide preventative and supportive care to each patient based on their individual needs, with a focus on orthopedic surgical cases.
Responsibilities
- Recognize and address urgent and emergent surgical situations
- Assess and monitor patients' medical status while in the operating room
- Assess patient condition and monitor vital signs, providing general nursing care
- Ensure the operating room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment
- Maintain operating room sterility
- Review charts for completeness in accordance with documentation protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care
- Foster continuity and quality of care in the best interests of patients
Clinical Setting
HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is a 267-bed facility offering advanced primary stroke center services, cancer care, open-heart surgery, and a wide range of specialties. The hospital employs over 300 respected and qualified physicians and provides emergency services including a pediatric emergency room and two freestanding emergency rooms.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date
- 5 years of nursing experience required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (AHA Healthcare Provider)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification
