The opportunity

Job Description

HonorHealth is seeking an experienced RN Operating Room Circulating nurse for the OR Operating Room-Main department at Shea Medical Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. This is a day shift position working 4x10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a busy operating room environment at one of Arizona's largest nonprofit healthcare systems, providing skilled nursing care in a surgical setting.

Responsibilities

As an RN in the operating room, you will:

  • Collect health data systematically and prioritize data collection based on the patient's immediate condition or needs, involving the family in the process
  • Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses and develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized, family-centered, developmentally appropriate, and culturally relevant patient care plans
  • Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient and their specific health problems
  • Develop evidence-based care plans that reflect current nursing practice, provide continuity of care, and are family-centered
  • Implement interventions in the care plan, initiate treatments and medications based on standing orders, policies, and procedures, and provide emergency and resuscitative measures as needed
  • Provide nursing care to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of patients and families using a family-centered approach
  • Evaluate patient progress toward attainment of outcomes and document observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures, and multi-systems monitoring data
  • Maintain and enhance patient outcomes that promote cost-effective, high-quality healthcare
  • Evaluate your own nursing practice in relation to professional standards and relevant statutes and regulations
  • Integrate ethical principles in all aspects of practice and enhance knowledge of culture and diversity needs for specific populations
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care delivery
  • Develop and evaluate evidence-based standards of care and participate in research to identify strategies for improving nursing practice and patient outcomes
  • Provide direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides regarding patient care and delegate when appropriate
  • Precept new hire staff and students, assisting them in completing competency skills
  • Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care

Required Qualifications

  • Active Arizona RN license or compact state licensure at time of hire
  • Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support training course C)
  • Required RN Operating Room Circulating experience
  • Minimum 10 months of medical-surgical or acute specialty setting experience
  • Associates degree or Diploma in Nursing (all Diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire OR have 5 or more years of registered nurse experience, including direct patient care or indirect RN roles, at time of hire)
  • Unit-specific certification as required by specialty area
