RN Operating Room

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Operating Room team as a Circulator at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota. You will provide quality and compassionate care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, working closely with nurses, surgical technicians, nursing assistants, and other clinical disciplines to deliver patient and family-centered care.

Clinical Setting

Fairview Ridges Hospital performs approximately 8,000 surgical cases annually across 12 operating rooms equipped with the latest technology. The OR includes specialty areas in Spine, Orthopedics, OB-GYN, General Surgery, ENT, and Urology. Perianesthesia services include 12 PACU bays and 18 pre- and post-op bays. A proactive pre-admitting department prepares patients in advance of their visit and collaborates closely with Anesthesia. Child Life services are available on-site to support pediatric patients. Procedures range from outpatient to surgical admissions and include pediatric through geriatric patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to develop a comprehensive nursing plan of care
• Develop individualized plans based on age, social and cultural considerations, patient condition, and other relevant needs
• Evaluate care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare team members within and across care settings to promote partnership-based care
• Advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
• Promote a culture of evidence-based practice

Required Qualifications

• Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• 1-2 years of current RN operating room experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• 2-5 years of RN operating room experience

Schedule

This is a casual hours position working 80 hours every two weeks on a 12-hour day shift schedule. Hours are 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. No scheduled weekends, but weekend call is required every sixth weekend. Holiday requirement is 2 holidays per year.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate: $44.68 to $75.66
