RN Clinical Team Lead - Operating Room

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, a 294-bed acute-care hospital in North Texas, is seeking an RN Clinical Team Lead for the Operating Room. This leadership role combines direct patient care responsibilities with charge nurse duties, requiring you to provide front-line leadership and decision-making for departmental staff while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Clinical Setting

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke and Heart Attack Center by The Joint Commission and holds Magnet designation for nursing excellence. The hospital features a Level III Trauma center, NICU, Maternal Care services, and recently added a ninth operating room in 2025. You will work within this advanced clinical environment supported by more than 1,700 team members and 900 physicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line leadership and decision-making for departmental staff, ensuring quality and integrity of care delivered
• Develop staffing plans based on patient acuity and care needs
• Oversee day-to-day operations on the designated shift
• Monitor workflow and adjust staffing to support fiscal goals of the unit
• Coordinate and facilitate efficient patient flow, including timely admission pulls and patient discharges
• Assist the manager in achieving and sustaining department and organizational objectives including patient experience, length of stay, and unit-specific quality measures
• Participate in department-specific initiatives and process improvement projects
• Participate in peer interviews and provide feedback for employee evaluations as requested by manager
• Assist with occurrence investigations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
• Completion of charge nurse training and competencies (external hires must complete within 90 days of hire)
• Clinical course certifications consistent with RN requirements for the operating room, including Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced specialty certification such as CCRN, CEN, or RNC, or agreement to obtain within 2 years

Schedule

• Hours: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Shift: 10x4 Night (10-hour shifts, 4 days per week)
• Days of week: To be determined
