Registered Professional Nurse –After-School Activities​ (Per Diem)

Goshen Central School District is seeking a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) to provide per diem nursing coverage for after-school activities and school-sponsored events at C.J. Hooker Middle School and Goshen High School. You will provide nursing assessment, care, and emergency response for students participating in athletics, extracurricular activities, performances, and other district-sponsored events.

Responsibilities

• Respond to student illness or injury
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district procedures
• Implement student-specific health care plans as applicable
• Maintain appropriate documentation
• Collaborate with school personnel and families as needed

Clinical Setting

You will work in a school environment supporting middle and high school students during after-school activities and district-sponsored events.

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license and registration
• Ability to provide nursing care to school-age children and adolescents within the scope of professional nursing practice
• Ability to respond appropriately to student medical needs and emergencies
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, coaches, advisors, administrators, and other school personnel
• Current compliance with applicable NYSED professional requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• School nursing, pediatric, or community health nursing experience
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
• Experience working with students with complex medical needs
• Familiarity with school health procedures, medication administration, and student health

Schedule

Per diem / as needed basis.
