Cascades Healthcare, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community, is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse for a full-time 3-month contract position in Idaho. You will provide direct patient care to a geriatric population in a long-term and short-term care setting, working within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines
  • Record time spent performing individual treatments in accordance with ancillary services policy on the medication/treatment record
  • Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
  • Notify the physician of medication or treatment refusals, non-compliance with treatment plans, and resident responses to medication regimens, including prompt notification of any adverse reactions
  • Maintain medication cart, refrigerator, and treatment areas in a clean and organized manner with proper medication storage and disposal
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing personnel as required
  • Practice, implement, and supervise infection control, universal precautions, and safety policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Current active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of Idaho
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in English
  • Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to see and hear, or use prosthetics that enable adequate sensory function to meet position requirements

  • Experience in long-term geriatric nursing care
