The Missouri Veterans Home seeks a Registered Nurse - Shift Supervisor to provide clinical leadership and direct nursing care to veterans. In this supervisory role, you will oversee nursing operations on your assigned shift, manage staff performance and development, and ensure high-quality veteran care through direct assessment, clinical decision-making, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Clinical Setting
You will work at the Missouri Veterans Home, serving a veteran patient population in a long-term care environment.
Responsibilities
- Make rounds on assigned shift to direct and evaluate nursing services, monitor workflow, and redefine priorities as needed
- Communicate with the unit manager regarding data collected and pertinent issues related to each unit
- Identify veterans who are high risk for negative outcomes and communicate findings to staff at all levels
- Document accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Communicate and participate with the interdisciplinary team to provide holistic care
- Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation when indicated
- Oversee supervision, recruitment, retention, performance management, discipline, clinical instruction, and feedback to nursing staff
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician
- Assist the nursing team with veteran care as needed, which may include lifting
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in Missouri in good standing
- 2 or more years of experience as a registered nurse
Schedule and Compensation
Shift options and hourly pay:
- Day shift: $46.18 per hour
- Evening and night shift: $50.34 per hour
