Registered Nurse Shift Manager (RN) - Med Surg

As a Registered Nurse Shift Manager for the 3 South/Telemetry unit, you will coordinate nursing services and staff during night shifts, reporting to the Director of Patient Care Services. You will utilize the nursing process and leadership skills to ensure appropriate patient care aligned with patient age and developmental level, assess staffing needs, and collaborate with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to meet patient care requirements.

Clinical Setting

• Medical-surgical and telemetry unit
• Acute care hospital environment

Responsibilities

• Coordinate services of nursing staff to patients during assigned night shifts
• Ensure patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served
• Assess staff needs for the unit
• Collaborate with staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor
• Utilize nursing process and organizational/leadership skills

Schedule

• Part-time position
• Night shift
• No holiday rotation

Required Qualifications

• Three to five years of acute care nursing experience or equivalent
• Current California RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• RN skills as described for designated unit

Preferred Qualifications

• Managerial communication skills
