The opportunity

Job Description

Hauenstein 2 Stepdown is a 16-bed, multi-specialty stepdown unit seeking a Registered Nurse for the night shift to care for complex medical-surgical, oncology, trauma, and sepsis patients. This fast-paced, collaborative environment offers the opportunity to strengthen clinical expertise while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Care for complex medical-surgical, oncology, trauma, and sepsis stepdown patients
  • Perform advanced patient assessments and monitoring
  • Enhance critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
  • Build expertise in managing stepdown patients
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, pharmacists, and fellow nurses
  • Play a key role in improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school and program
  • Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Licensed in the State of Michigan
  • Current BLS certification
  • ACLS certification at time of hire or within 6 months of hire
  • Experience as an RN required

Education Requirements

  • If hired in Grand Rapids with an ADN, you must enroll in a BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete it within 4 years of hire

Schedule

  • Full time
  • 36 hours per week
  • 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. (night shift)
