Registered Nurse - Senior (Cardio MARC)

This is a Senior Registered Nurse position in Cardiology (MARC - Multimodality Advanced Radiology Center), providing direct nursing care to patients in a healthcare facility. You will demonstrate advanced clinical skills in physical examinations, complex medical testing, and physician interpretation of results. This role includes leadership and mentoring responsibilities for lower-level team members.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care and demonstrate advanced skills in physical examinations, complex medical testing, and physician interpretation of results
• Consult with physicians and implement treatment plans
• Administer medications and injections as needed
• Ensure smooth clinic flow and work closely with assigned scheduler to coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, and diagnostic tests
• Triage patient calls and collaborate with call center team members
• Assist with and arrange hospital admissions as needed
• Follow up on diagnostic tests and labs, ensuring results are reported to the medical provider
• Refer patients to appropriate specialists as ordered by physician
• Consult and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team
• Schedule follow-up appointments, weekly check appointments, and procedure appointments
• Educate patients and family members
• Lead or mentor lower-level team members
• Function within the nursing process as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license
• Ability to function within the Texas Nurse Practice Act
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical thinking and ability to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner
• Ability to participate as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Completion of all required training and competency requirements
