Registered Nurse - Same Day Surgery

Sentara RMH Medical Center is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join the Same Day Surgery team. This is a rotating shift position at a 238-bed Magnet-designated community hospital in Harrisonburg, Virginia. You will provide direct patient care in the perioperative setting, applying the nursing process and professional standards of practice to support patients undergoing same-day surgical procedures.

Clinical Setting

Sentara RMH Medical Center is a CMS 5-Star and Magnet-designated hospital serving a seven-county area. The facility performs approximately 21,000 surgical procedures annually and employs 2,600 local staff members.

Schedule

• Two 9-hour scheduled shifts per week
• Shift options: 0530-1500, 0600-1530, 0700-1630, 0830-1800, or 1000-1930
• Rotating shift assignment

Responsibilities

• Perform competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation)
• Apply standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health
• Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required for the perioperative setting

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous acute care experience

Compensation and Benefits

Sign-on bonus up to $7,500 for qualifying candidates.

Base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 to $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available, including shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range varies based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
