Villa at Beecher Place is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide licensed nursing care to assigned residents in a long-term care setting. The RN assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of residents during a shift of duty, delivering care through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans.
Responsibilities
- Provide licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations
- Provide and receive nursing reports at the beginning and end of shift duty hours
- Maintain assigned work areas (nurse station, medication cart, medication room) and resident care rooms in a clean and sanitary manner
- Direct and supervise certified nursing assistant services for the assigned unit to ensure care is rendered in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards
- Take and record resident blood pressure and vital signs
- Administer catheter care, IV therapy, and respiratory care (oxygen, nebulizer treatments) as ordered within license limitations
- Receive and transcribe physician orders to resident charts, Kardex, Medication Administration Records (MAR), and treatment/care plans
- Prepare and administer medications and perform treatments as ordered by the physician
- Chart nursing notes in an informative and descriptive manner reflecting care provided and resident response
- Count controlled drugs with other nurses at shift change and notify management of drug and narcotic discrepancies
- Ensure the resident environment is free from accidents and hazards; immediately address potential safety risks
- Make written and oral reports and recommendations concerning shift activities as required
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as necessary while maintaining overall safety of residents, staff, and visitors
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Current CPR Certification
- Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under stress
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Understanding and adherence to infection control standards, policies, and procedures
- Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel
- Basic computer knowledge and ability with aptitude to learn company applications
Physical Requirements
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required
