The opportunity

Job Description

This part-time position offers the opportunity to work as a Registered Nurse in a fast-paced urgent care setting in Pearland. You will gather patient information, assess patients, and provide direct care while collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver age-appropriate care.

Schedule

  • Part-time, 30 hours per week
  • Monday–Friday: 12:00 PM–10:00 PM
  • Saturday–Sunday: 10:00 AM–8:00 PM
  • Clinic operates 7 days a week

Responsibilities

  • Collect and document patient and family data including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental information per site protocol
  • Collect and document vital signs, height, weight, and reason for visit with 100% accuracy
  • Graph data per site protocol
  • Document current medications, allergies, and other information per site protocol
  • Prepare patients for examination per site protocol
  • Assist the provider during treatments, examinations, and testing as directed and within scope of practice
  • Complete treatments as directed by the provider and within scope of site
  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed by the physician per site protocol
  • Document administration of medications and immunizations in the medical record
  • Report all medication and immunization errors to supervisor immediately upon discovery
  • Provide patient and family education as instructed by the physician or per site protocol
  • Document patient education in the medical record
  • Coordinate referrals and ensure families have contact information and necessary documentation
  • Triage presenting patient complaints per site protocol
  • Triage phone calls per site protocol and within scope of site standards
  • Document all clinical patient phone calls per organization recommendations
  • Verify provider orders and patient identity per site protocol
  • Collect and process specimens according to manufacturer's instructions using proper technique
  • Follow site protocol in reporting and documenting laboratory results
  • Identify yourself to patients and families, explain the visit process, and provide information regarding length of visit

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Nursing or Associate's degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for obtaining and maintaining an RN license
  • Active RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Additional Requirements

  • All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
