As a Level I Trauma Center serving southern Palm Beach County, we offer the opportunity to work with a dedicated healthcare team in a specialized critical care environment where your clinical expertise directly impacts patient outcomes.
Clinical Setting
Delray Medical Center is a 536-bed acute care hospital and state-designated Level I Trauma Center. The Trauma ICU serves critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and specialized trauma care. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and clinical specialists committed to delivering evidence-based trauma care.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, safe, and cost-effective total nursing care to all assigned patients
- Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process
- Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control
- Work toward optimal patient outcomes and safe discharge
- Report for scheduled shifts on time and prepared to assume responsibilities
- Attend and participate in meetings and remain responsible for information communicated
- Adhere to corporate, regional, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures
- Follow infection control procedures at all times
- Maintain environmental care standards

Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Basic EKG certification
- Critical care course and/or emergency care course that includes critical care didactic content
Education
- Minimum: Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Registered Nurse licensure
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Additional Requirements
- PALS certification required within six months of hire
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required within one year
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) optional for TICU
- Prior clinical experience in critical care or trauma preferred
Preferred Certifications
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
- TCRN (Trauma Certified Registered Nurse)
