Saint Mary's Home is seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor to provide clinical leadership and coordinate resident care on an assigned shift. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Service, you will oversee the delivery of resident care, supervise nursing staff, and serve as the administrative representative when administration is not present in the building. This part-time position works every other Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of resident care on assigned shifts
  • Provide clinical supervision of nursing staff
  • Ensure all staff promote and deliver care that meets or exceeds resident expectations
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary care team participation to maximize resident independence and autonomy
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, security, infection control, and hazardous materials policies and procedures
  • Promote quality improvement and customer satisfaction in all aspects of work
  • Coach, counsel, develop, and manage the performance of assigned staff
  • Manage departmental operations within budgetary guidelines without compromising resident care
  • Serve as administrative designee in the absence of building administration
  • Participate in and promote educational programs, including required annual training in fire safety, facility safety, infection control, disaster response, hazard communication, resident rights and abuse law, and corporate compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Connecticut
  • Three years of clinical nursing practice
  • One year of long-term care experience
  • Excellent communication and assessment skills
  • Working knowledge of OBRA, State, and JCAHO regulatory requirements
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
