Registered Nurse (RN) Stem Cell Transplant Infusion

Inova Schar Cancer Institute's Stem Cell Transplant Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Stem Cell Transplant Infusion Clinic in a full-time capacity. You will provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination in a patient and family-centered manner, delivering safe and therapeutic care while incorporating holistic and systematic approaches. You will integrate knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, including patient and family education. You will communicate effectively and work cooperatively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams while determining processes for care delivery through direct patient and family communication, technology, and team collaboration.

Clinical Setting

The Stem Cell Transplant Infusion Clinic is a state-of-the-art facility within Inova Schar Cancer Institute, a nationally renowned cancer center in the Washington, DC metro area. The clinic provides comprehensive logistical, clinical, and emotional support to stem cell transplant patients.

Schedule

The clinic operates 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, with potential for expansion to seven days per week in the future. Nurses work three 12-hour shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); if ADN, must complete BSN within five years of start date
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association
• Active RN license and eligibility to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Proficient English with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and caring demeanor toward others
• Proficient computer skills
• Must obtain Chemotherapy (Chemo) card within three months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous chemotherapy infusion experience strongly preferred
