Registered Nurse (RN) School Nurse PRN

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a School Nurse on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This position is located in Somerset, Kentucky, at a 295-bed acute care facility that is part of Lifepoint Health.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments
• Document patient care provided
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family as appropriate
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluate learning needs of patients and families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients
• Work with critical thinking and decisive judgment, often with minimal supervision
• Function effectively in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Kentucky (single state or compact)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence before employment begins
