Registered Nurse (RN) School Nurse PRN

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a School Nurse on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This position is located in Somerset, Kentucky, at a 295-bed hospital that is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network with facilities across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments
• Document patient care provided
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluate learning needs of patients and/or families and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients
• Work with critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Function effectively in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky (single state or compact)
• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence before employment begins
