Job Description

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a School Nurse. This full-time position offers no weekends, no holidays, and time off during school closings, providing a stable schedule aligned with the academic calendar.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a school health setting as part of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, a 295-bed facility in Somerset, Kentucky, and part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network with facilities across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to students using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice
  • Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care
  • Document patient care provided
  • Monitor, record, and communicate student condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, student, and family
  • Assist students with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
  • Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support needs
  • Evaluate learning needs of students and families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
  • Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of students

Schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing
  • Current RN license to practice in Kentucky
  • Active Kentucky license (single state or compact)
  • BCLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing

License and Certification Requirements

If relocating, Kentucky licensure must be updated to your new Primary State of Residence before employment begins.
