Registered Nurse (RN) - School Nurse

FullShift Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide school nursing care for school-age students during the 2023-2024 school year in Fresno, California. School nurses are responsible for providing medical assistance to students, completing a range of tasks from assessing minor injuries to requesting emergency services. This position offers the benefit of having all scheduled breaks off, as provided by the school district.

Responsibilities

• Conduct student hearing and vision screenings
• Educate students on hygiene and safety practices
• Dispense prescription medications to students per physician instructions
• Verify vaccination records
• Take students' temperatures when fever is suspected
• Administer first aid and CPR
• Treat minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes, and bruises
• Contact parents when students are ill or injured

Schedule

Schedule will depend on the school selected.

Required Qualifications

• California State Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current CPR/BLS Card
• Current Negative TB Result

Physical Demands

This position regularly requires employees to talk, hear, and communicate with both children and adults. The position requires employees to use their hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Employees are frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time. The position may require lifting, bending, and crouching. The employee will occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
