Maplewood is seeking full-time and part-time Registered Nurses for all shifts. You will provide direct nursing care under the supervision of the RN Shift Supervisor and oversee day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. This role is vital in ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times in compliance with current federal, state, and local standards, HIPAA regulations, and facility guidelines.
Clinical Setting
You will work throughout the nursing service area, including drug rooms, nurses' stations, and resident rooms in a long-term care facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents
- Supervise nursing assistants to ensure delivery of high-quality care
- Oversee day-to-day nursing activities
- Maintain communication with residents, their families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Complete assigned duties in accordance with facility standards
- Report directly to the RN Shift Supervisor
- Participate in ongoing educational programs to maintain licensure and stay current with nursing best practices
- Maintain liaison with residents, families, and support departments to ensure all care needs are met
Working Conditions
- Required to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during work hours
- Subject to frequent interruptions and must respond to emergencies
- Interacts with residents, personnel, and visitors under a variety of conditions and circumstances
- May encounter emotionally upset residents, family members, and visitors, requiring patience and professionalism
- Works beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary
- Scheduled hours may change to meet facility needs
- Exposed to risks such as falls, burns, chemicals, and other environmental hazards
- Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and other health risks in the healthcare environment
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
