REGISTERED NURSE (RN) (PRN) - SURGERY CENTER

Northwest Specialty Surgery Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a per-diem position in the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) and Pre-Op Unit. This is a fast-paced role with an expected commitment of approximately one shift per week. You will provide direct patient care in both pre-operative and recovery settings, with a typical patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1, though this may vary based on department needs.

Responsibilities

• Direct and provide professional nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Delegate nursing assignments and prepare schedules
• Oversee patient admissions and discharges
• Monitor and order medications and supplies
• Maintain safe and effective patient care and documentation standards

Clinical Setting

Northwest Specialty Hospital is a 28-bed inpatient facility with 12 operating rooms and multiple clinics serving various specialties throughout Kootenai County. Required Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the State of Idaho
• Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and documentation
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others
• Awareness of professional nursing standards and performance in accordance with them

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous PACU, critical care, or emergency room experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• ACLS certification (required within six months of employment)
• PALS certification (required within six months of employment)
