Inova Fair Oaks Hospital – Family Centered Care is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN position. This role focuses on delivering patient and family-centered care across the continuum of care, with an emphasis on comprehensive assessment, individualized care planning, and patient advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships
  • Formulate individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpret trends in patient populations to achieve best practice
  • Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families
  • Advocate for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provide counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues
  • Access resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinate healthcare and alternate services for patient and family transition planning

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing. Candidates with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) must complete a BSN within 5 years of the start date
  • Active RN license or eligibility to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • One year of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to two years of recent Family Centered Care experience
