Join Mission Trail Baptist Hospital as a Registered Nurse specializing in PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) services. In this role, you will assess and place peripherally inserted central catheters using ultrasound and micro-introducers for adult patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will facilitate the achievement of defined standards of intravenous care across the facility while providing education to patients and staff, troubleshooting and repairing various types of central venous catheters, and maintaining quarterly reports.
Responsibilities
- Assess and place peripherally inserted central catheters using ultrasound and micro-introducers for adult patients
- Provide care to both inpatient and outpatient populations
- Facilitate achievement of defined intravenous care standards throughout the facility
- Educate patients and staff on PICC care and management
- Troubleshoot and repair various types of central venous catheters
- Maintain and generate quarterly reports
- Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
- Minimum 1 year of PICC experience with ultrasound and micro-introducers
- Certification in advanced Peripheral Inserted Central Catheterization
- Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire (ARC or AHA); must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- INS (Infusion Nurses Society) certification
