Registered Nurse (RN) - PICC Services

This position involves the assessment and placement of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) using ultrasound and micro-introducers for adult patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will work to maintain the facility's defined standard of intravenous care for all patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess and place PICCs using ultrasound and micro-introducers for adult patients
• Facilitate achievement of defined intravenous care standards throughout the facility
• Teach patients and staff about PICC care and management
• Troubleshoot and repair various types of central venous catheters
• Maintain and generate quarterly reports
• Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
• Certification in Advanced Peripheral Inserted Central Catheterization
• One year of PICC experience with ultrasound and micro-introducers
• Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support certification on hire (ARC or AHA); must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• INS (Infusion Nurses Society) certification
