Registered Nurse (RN) – PICC

Raleigh General Hospital, a 300-bed acute care facility in Beckley, WV, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our IV/PICC team on a PRN day schedule. In this specialized role, you will assess patients' individualized IV access needs, develop and implement specific plans for IV therapy, and provide maintenance and follow-up care for PICC lines and central lines. You will be responsible for the insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) and will serve as a preceptor for RNs who have completed PICC insertion training.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' individualized IV access needs and develop specific plans related to IV therapy
• Insert Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) using ultrasound guidance
• Provide maintenance and follow-up care for PICC lines and central lines
• Administer Cath Flow for obstructed lines per physician order
• Perform ultrasound-guided peripheral IV starts
• Serve as a preceptor for RNs who have completed PICC insertion training
• Initiate training and education for nursing staff and patients/families as required
• Provide specialized knowledge, assessment, and skills in obtaining, maintaining, and troubleshooting vascular access devices
• Perform appropriate application of device algorithms

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma Program
• Current state Registered Nurse license at time of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) required within 30 days of hire
