Registered Nurse (RN) – PICC

Raleigh General Hospital, a 300-bed acute care facility in Beckley, WV, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our IV/PICC team on a PRN day schedule. This specialized role focuses on assessing patients' individualized IV access needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing expert care for peripheral and central vascular access devices.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' individualized IV access needs and develop specific plans related to IV therapy
• Insert Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) using ultrasound guidance
• Provide maintenance and follow-up care for PICC lines and central lines
• Administer Cath Flow for obstructed lines per physician order
• Perform ultrasound-guided peripheral IV starts
• Apply appropriate device algorithms
• Serve as a preceptor for RNs who have completed PICC line insertion training
• Initiate training and education for nursing staff and patients/families as required
• Provide specialized knowledge, assessment, and skills in obtaining, maintaining, and troubleshooting vascular access devices
• Work with minimal supervision using critical thinking and decisive judgment

• PRN (as needed) days
• In-person position

Required Qualifications

• Current state Registered Nurse license at time of hire
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma Program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) required within 30 days of hire
