The opportunity

Job Description

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in vascular access to join the team at Lourdes Hospital. In this role, you will provide vascular access to patients by placing PICC lines, peripheral IV catheters, and obtaining lab work with or without ultrasound guidance. You will evaluate and troubleshoot vascular access devices, including central lines, and provide education to healthcare team members regarding vascular access device care and management.

Responsibilities

  • Place PICC lines, peripheral IV catheters, and obtain lab work as needed, with or without ultrasound guidance
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot vascular access devices, including central lines
  • Provide education to healthcare team members regarding vascular access devices and care
  • Perform daily assessment of all IV sites (central and peripheral) on inpatient units
  • Change IV dressings and IV sites as required per policy
  • Chart care provided to patients
  • Communicate with the Team Lead regarding patient care, assessments, and treatments
  • Collect data for patient safety and quality initiatives
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week
  • Days/Evenings shift

Required Qualifications

  • Current nursing license in the State of Kentucky
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • Any unit-specific certification requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience

Working Conditions
