Lourdes Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in vascular access to provide PICC line placement, peripheral IV catheter insertion, and phlebotomy services. This role focuses on delivering high-quality vascular access solutions while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Place PICC lines, peripheral IV catheters, and obtain lab work with or without ultrasound guidance
- Evaluate and troubleshoot vascular access devices, including central lines
- Perform daily assessment of all IV sites (central and peripheral) on inpatient units
- Change IV dressings and IV sites as required per policy
- Provide education to healthcare team members regarding vascular access devices and care
- Communicate with the Team Lead regarding patient care, assessments, and treatments
- Maintain accurate charting of all care provided
- Collect data for patient safety and quality initiatives
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Qualifications
- Current nursing license in the State of Kentucky
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- Any unit-specific certifications as required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- PICC certification (obtain within one year of start date)
- Experience with ultrasound-guided IV insertion
- Midline insertion experience
- PICC line insertion experience
- 2-3 years of experience in ICU, Medical-Surgical, or specialty nursing
Education
- Minimum: Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or obtain BSN within 5 years of employment
