Registered Nurse (RN) - Pedi Radiology

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Pediatric Radiology department. In this role, you will provide nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing imaging procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will work alongside a renowned team using leading-edge technology to deliver comprehensive, accurate, and safe pediatric imaging services. This position emphasizes family-centered, age-appropriate care delivered in a cost-effective manner.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a pediatric radiology department within a hospital environment that prioritizes world-class expertise and advanced imaging technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive assessments of patients and families, including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs in an organized and systematic manner
• Analyze situations, anticipate potential problems, and detect changes in patient status
• Re-prioritize and update the plan of care based on new information and changes to the patient's condition; communicate updates to the healthcare team and document in the medical record
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and patient care conferences and document findings in the medical record
• Assist patients and families in implementing their role in the plan of care as appropriate
• Assess patient and family learning needs, capabilities, preferences, and readiness to learn prior to providing education
• Demonstrate positive and effective interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, families, visitors, peers, and other healthcare team members
• Administer and document medications and treatments in a timely manner
• Demonstrate willingness and ability to acquire new knowledge and utilize new skills to improve individual, team, and organizational performance
• Participate in unit performance improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, associate's degree in nursing, or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement; or an associate's degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for RN licensure; or current enrollment in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN with verified BSN-equivalency or signed agreement
• Minimum 9 months of nursing experience
• Active RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse License Compact
• CPR - Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric radiology experience
