Texas Children's Outpatient Pulmonary Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct and telephone nursing care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. You will deliver health teaching, patient advocacy, and care coordination for pediatric patients in the Medical Center, ensuring all interventions are age and developmentally appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Use evidence-based assessment techniques and complex interviewing to collect pertinent patient, family, and population-specific data
- Develop and continuously update individualized care plans for patients seeking health promotion, disease management, or resolution of health-related problems
- Prioritize interventions and implement the plan of care in partnership with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner
- Conduct reevaluation and follow-up of care based on patient needs, condition changes, or patient requests
- Incorporate patients', families', and caregivers' ability to understand and participate in the plan of care
- Use ongoing reassessment data to revise diagnoses, expected outcomes, and care implementation as needed
- Provide supervision and coordination of care given by others
- Coordinate services required for patients outside the ambulatory care setting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, OR Associate's Degree in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, OR Technical Diploma in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, OR current enrollment in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN
- Verified BSN-equivalency or signed agreement required
- Current licensure with the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- 9 months of professional nursing experience
Additional Requirements
- All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
