Registered Nurse, RN - Outpatient Procedures

Altru is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care in the Outpatient Procedures setting at the Altru Professional Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota. In this role, you will deliver patient-centered care, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and support safe patient discharge through comprehensive assessment, planning, and education.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an outpatient procedures environment, providing nursing care to patients across various age groups and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds on all patients, ensuring quality customer service and addressing any unmet requirements
• Develop individualized plans of care based on comprehensive patient assessment, considering physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs
• Assess patient conditions and nursing needs, establish goals, and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Assess, intervene, and reassess patient pain promptly according to standard operating procedures
• Identify early warning signs of patient condition changes and respond appropriately, including contacting clinicians and assisting with emergency measures as needed
• Report observations and reactions regarding patients to appropriate multidisciplinary team members and document accurately and concisely
• Complete and submit all incident reports prior to shift completion
• Establish and maintain communication with patients and significant others, utilizing educational opportunities
• Begin discharge planning early, providing appropriate education and counseling based on identified needs
• Delegate nursing interventions within scope of practice to qualified personnel
• Perform additional duties as assigned to meet departmental and organizational needs

Education

• Associate degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or Master's/Doctorate in Nursing (preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

• Active Registered Nurse license from the North Dakota Board of Nursing or Compact State Agreement, required prior to start date. Temporary RN license accepted prior to start; unencumbered license required before beginning work.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required within 90 days of start date
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required within 90 days of start date
• Pain Management certification, required within 12 months of start date
• Minnesota Board of Nursing registration may be required depending on work area

RN I: $30.65 - $45.98 per hour

• Requires Associate degree in Nursing

RN II: $32.19 - $48.28 per hour

• Requires 6 or more years of RN experience with an Associate/Associate degree in Nursing, OR 3 or more years of RN experience with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Requires Bachelor of Science in Nursing

RN III: $33.80 - $50.69 per hour

• Requires 12 or more years of RN experience with an Associate/Associate degree in Nursing, OR 6 or more years of RN experience with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, OR Master's/Doctorate in Nursing
