Registered Nurse (RN) - Outpatient Kingwood Glen Specialty Care Clinic

Texas Children's Outpatient Kingwood Glen Specialty Care Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct and telephone nursing care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. In this role, you will deliver health teaching, patient advocacy, and care coordination for pediatric patients in an outpatient specialty care environment. You will supervise and coordinate care provided by others, and facilitate the coordination of services required for patients outside the ambulatory care setting in an age and developmentally appropriate manner.

Clinical Setting

This position is based at the Kingwood Glen Specialty Care Clinic, a pediatric outpatient facility operated by Texas Children's.

Responsibilities

• Use evidence-based assessment techniques and complex interviewing methods to collect pertinent patient, family, and population-specific data
• Develop and continuously update individualized care plans for patients seeking care for health promotion, disease management, or health-related situational problems
• Prioritize interventions and implement the plan of care in partnership with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner
• Conduct reevaluation and follow-up of care delivered based on patient needs, condition, or patient request
• Incorporate the patient's, family's, and caregiver's ability to understand and participate in the plan of care
• Use ongoing reassessment data to revise diagnoses, expected outcomes, and implementation of the care plan as needed
• Demonstrate patient advocacy through response to patient care issues and collaboration with the healthcare team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, OR Associate's Degree in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, OR Technical Diploma in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, OR current enrollment in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN
• Verified BSN-equivalency or signed agreement required
• Current licensure with the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• 9 months of professional nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• EPIC experience

• All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
