Texas Children's Outpatient Allergy & Immunology Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct and telephone nursing care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. You will deliver health teaching, patient advocacy, and care coordination for patients in the Medical Center, with a focus on age and developmentally appropriate care.

Responsibilities

  • Use evidence-based assessment and complex interviewing techniques to collect pertinent patient, family, and population-specific data
  • Develop and continuously update individualized care plans for patients seeking health promotion, disease management, or care for health-related situational problems
  • Prioritize interventions and implement the plan of care in partnership with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner
  • Conduct reevaluation and follow-up of care delivered based on patient needs, condition, or request
  • Incorporate patients', families', and caregivers' ability to understand and participate in the plan of care
  • Use ongoing reassessment data to revise diagnoses, expected outcomes, and implementation of the plan as needed
  • Demonstrate patient advocacy through response to patient care issues and collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Provide supervision and coordination of care given by others
  • Coordinate services required for patients outside the ambulatory care setting

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, OR Associate's Degree in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, OR Technical Diploma in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, OR current enrollment in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN
  • Verified BSN-equivalency or signed agreement required
  • Current licensure with the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Nine months of professional nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPIC experience

Additional Requirements

  • All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
