Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopedics Post Surgical

Join Lourdes Health as a Registered Nurse in our 10-bed Orthopedic/Medical-Surgical unit, where you will provide specialized post-operative care for orthopedic surgery patients. This full-time position (0.9 FTE) offers a supportive, team-oriented environment with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio and emphasizes schedule flexibility, professional growth, and work-life balance.

Clinical Setting

Lourdes Medical Center is a 35-bed hospital located in Pasco, Washington. The orthopedic unit specializes in post-surgical care and recovery for orthopedic patients within a collaborative interdisciplinary team structure.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient condition, pain levels, and surgical recovery
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor wounds, dressings, drains, and neurovascular status
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on recovery, medications, and mobility precautions
• Support rehabilitation goals and promote safe patient mobility
• Document care accurately and maintain a safe, patient-centered environment

Schedule

• Days shift, 3x12 hour schedule
• Weekends and holidays rotate

Required Qualifications

• Current Washington RN license or Compact RN License with Washington endorsement (if relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence before employment begins)
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school
• BCLS certification required
• One year of acute care nursing experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BSN)
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• Handle with Care certification

Compensation and Benefits

• Wage scale: $42.14 – $78.11 per hour
• $10,000 – $20,000 Commitment-Incentive Bonus (pro-rated for part-time)
