The opportunity

Job Description

MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ortho/Neuro department. In this 12-hour day shift position, you will provide safe, cost-effective patient care utilizing the nursing process within the scope of registered nursing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and develop written plans of care using assessment data
  • Implement and evaluate patient care, revising the plan as needed
  • Ensure safety and risk management in patient care delivery
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and colleagues
  • Contribute to staff development and unit/department initiatives
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Maintain current skills roster and clinical competencies

Schedule

  • Per Diem status
  • 12-hour day shifts
  • Every other weekend work commitment required
  • Available to work and be scheduled any day of the week

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay range: $58/hour to $73/hour
  • Placement in pay range based on relevant experience and qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required unless waived by nurse executive council review
  • Current California Registered Nurse license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for all areas
  • Completion of unit orientation and clinical competency validation prior to patient care assignment
  • Completion of pre-employment drug screening
  • Completion of pre-employment criminal background reference check
  • Completion of pre-employment health evaluation including TB screening and annual or bi-annual re-evaluation as indicated by Employee Health

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year minimum experience in pediatric and/or women's hospital

Additional Requirements

  • Additional certifications required within 6 months of hire or transfer into department
