Join DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital as a Registered Nurse in our Neurological/Stroke Intensive Care Unit. As a member of the Patient Care Services Team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to a group of patients and their families in Michigan's first Level I Trauma Center and a certified primary stroke center. This part-time day position offers the opportunity to work in one of the state's most well-equipped and busy emergency and critical care settings.

Clinical Setting

DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital is Michigan's first Level I Trauma Center and home to the state's first and largest verified burn center, one of only 43 in the nation. The facility operates a 24/7 hyperbaric oxygen program and is a nationally recognized and accredited primary stroke center with the DMC Rosa Parks Geriatric Center of Excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers
  • Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care
  • Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members
  • Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge
  • Report directly to senior unit management and participate in shared decision-making activities
  • Apply independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members including ancillary and support services

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from a school of nursing
  • Active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Stroke certification

Schedule

  • Part-time position
  • Day shift: 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM
