Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - PRN (As Needed) - Eventide Prairie Commons

Eventide Prairie Commons in Grand Island is hiring PRN (as needed) Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to provide nursing care for seniors in a residential setting. This is a PRN position with a minimum of 24 hours per month, including 16 hours on weekends, and one holiday rotation per year.

Clinical Setting

Eventide Prairie Commons is a senior living community providing residential care services.

Responsibilities

• Follow physician's orders in accordance with facility policies and procedures, receiving and recording orders as appropriate
• Prepare, administer, and supervise administration of medications, treatments, and nursing services as ordered by the physician
• Observe seniors for adverse reactions to medications and report findings
• Assess assigned seniors regarding physical, mental, and psychosocial status, reporting condition changes to the immediate supervisor
• Take and accurately record vital signs
• Observe senior skin per facility policies and take proactive steps to prevent pressure ulcers
• Complete procedures and document information on medical records in a timely manner according to facility policies
• Provide direction and monitor medication aides delivering medications
• Follow through on comprehensive care plans developed for each senior
• Provide supervision and education to seniors for self-administration of medications
• Assist in teaching seniors and caregivers necessary skills for discharge planning when applicable
• Assist in writing and implementing comprehensive nursing care plans, updating plans based on changes in physical or emotional status

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age 18
• Successful completion of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse course of study
• RN or LPN license in good standing as recorded on the Nebraska State Registry or other Nurse Compact state
• CPR certification required
• Meet Eventide's vaccination requirements
• Licenses and credentials must be kept current at the employee's expense

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 6 months experience as an RN or LPN

Schedule

• PRN (as needed) position
• Minimum 24 hours per month required
• Minimum 16 of those hours must be on weekends
• One holiday rotation per year

Compensation

• RN: $36.00 to $40.32 per hour based on qualifications, experience, and location
• LPN: $29.00 to $32.48 per hour based on qualifications, experience, and location
• Shift premiums and differentials available for select positions based on employment status and shift worked
