Avera Prince of Peace-Skilled Nursing is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our nursing home and extended care team. Clinical Setting
You will work in a skilled nursing facility providing direct care to residents in an extended care environment. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining residents, and documenting physical condition, psychological status, and relevant social factors
- Provide direct resident care including physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends
- Review physician prescriptions and communicate nursing care plans to the healthcare team
- Teach residents, families, and friends about health conditions, medications, and self-care skills
- Evaluate resident care by measuring health outcomes against established standards, reviewing records, and modifying care plans as needed
- Maintain safe and secure resident care environments by adhering to infection control policies, medication administration procedures, and controlled substance regulations
- Maintain and troubleshoot resident care equipment, manage supplies, and perform preventive maintenance
- Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Direct, plan, and coordinate the workflow of nursing assistants and other nursing personnel
- Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership
Schedule
- Rotating shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Every third weekend and holiday
- 72 hours per 2 weeks
- Must be able to work the hours specified, including rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Compensation
- LPN pay scale: $24.50 - $29.13 - $33.75 per hour
- RN pay scale: $32.50 - $40.50 - $48.50 per hour
- Actual pay rate dependent upon experience
- May be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $30,000
- Student Loan Repayment Program: Up to $167 per month (up to $10,000 total) to help pay down student loan principal
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, required upon hire
- Ability to work the specified rotating schedule including weekends and holidays
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience working in a clinical or long-term care environment
