The opportunity

Job Description

AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a PRN (as-needed) basis, working day shifts. This position is located in Louisville, Colorado.

You will provide comprehensive patient care in the operating room setting, working with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality surgical care. You will assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient progress, and maintain accurate medical records. Your responsibilities include maintaining a sterile environment, adhering to safety protocols, performing therapeutic and diagnostic interventions such as IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection. You will also educate patients and families about their conditions and post-discharge care, advocate for patient safety, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support CPR certification (BLS)
  • One or more years of medical-surgical nursing experience
  • Proficiency in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • EMR charting experience
  • Knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating compassion and respect to patients and families
  • Ability to work independently and take direction from physicians and management
  • Safe knowledge of equipment, procedures, and supplies including IV pumps, NOVA Glucose monitor, I-STAT, and immediate use sterilization policies
  • Organizational skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions

Schedule and Compensation

  • PRN (as-needed) schedule
  • Day shift
  • Pay range: $35.39 - $65.82 per hour
