Registered Nurse RN Operating Room OR Circulator Outpatient Pediatric

AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse RN Operating Room OR Circulator for our Outpatient Pediatric surgery program in Orlando, Florida. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures, working as part of an interdisciplinary surgical team in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Clinical Setting

This position is located in the outpatient pediatric operating room at AdventHealth Orlando, 2501 N. Orange Ave Suite 121, Orlando, FL 32804. You will work in a specialized surgical setting focused on pediatric patients requiring outpatient procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and needs through comprehensive evaluations to develop individualized care plans
• Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring comprehensive and continuous care
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to prescribed protocols
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress continuously, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes
• Document patient care activities meticulously to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care to promote understanding and compliance
• Advocate for patient safety by identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care
• Maintain sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infection and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic interventions such as IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections
• Provide emotional and physical support to patients and their families during recovery
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality, safety, and efficiency
• Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule and Shifts

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. You will work four 10-hour day shifts per week, beginning at 6:00 AM or 6:30 AM and ending at 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. After orientation, you will receive one designated day off per week based on unit needs. This position includes no on-call duties, no weekend work, and no major holiday assignments.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support CPR certification (BLS)
• One or more years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Associate's degree in Nursing
• Proficiency in English
• Ability to communicate effectively
• EMR charting capability
• Knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to pediatric patients
• Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating compassion and respect to patients and families undergoing stressful procedures
• Ability to work independently and self-motivated while taking direction from physicians and management
• Safe knowledge of equipment, procedures, supplies, computers, IV pumps, NOVA Glucose monitor, I-STAT, and immediate use sterilization policy and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• One or more years of surgical nursing experience
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Life Support CPR certification (BLS) required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
• Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, required as per Florida state law

Compensation and Bonuses

Pay range: $33.08 to $58.04 per hour. Eligible clinicians have the opportunity to earn salary increases of up to 20% through the Clinical Ladder Program based on experience, professional development, and achievement of advancement criteria. Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary, and salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.

Up to $12,500 sign-on bonus and $3,000 relocation assistance are available to eligible candidates. A 12-month full-time employment contract is required for sign-on and relocation eligibility. Sign-on eligibility requires one year of applicable experience; internal candidates and rehires within 12 months are not eligible. Relocation eligibility requires living 50 miles or more outside the campus address; rehires less than 12 months from separation date are not eligible.
