Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room - New Graduates Welcome

Join the Surgical Care Operating Room team at Franklin Hospital in Farmington, Maine, as a full-time Registered Nurse. This position welcomes new graduate nurses and those with less than 12 months of experience who are looking to develop specialized perioperative nursing skills in the surgical setting.

As an Operating Room RN, you will play an important role in caring for patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to prepare patients for surgery, coordinate care in the operating room, maintain a safe surgical environment, and advocate for patients throughout their procedure.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes
• Prepare patients for surgery and coordinate care in the operating room
• Maintain a safe surgical environment and support infection prevention and patient safety practices
• Participate in patient assessment and planning
• Ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are available
• Assist with surgical workflows
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the surgical team
• Collaborate, delegate, and communicate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care

Clinical Setting

Franklin Hospital is located in Farmington, Maine, in the heart of western Maine surrounded by mountains, lakes, and four-season outdoor recreation.

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 32-hour day shift

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current applicable state RN license
• Current BLS certification or must obtain within 30 days of start date
• New graduate or RN with less than 12 months of experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Additional Requirements

• Other certifications may be required specific to area of practice or in accordance with Department guidelines
