Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room Labor Pool

Riverside Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room Labor Pool in Newport News, Virginia. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care across a variety of clinical settings within our health system, with flexibility to work in different units and departments as needed. You will assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based care that meets our standards of excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice appropriate to the specialty or patient population served
• Partner with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care, treatments, and procedures that support physiological and psychosocial outcomes
• Assess and incorporate evidence-based standards of practice and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in coordinating care
• Facilitate safe patient transitions to the next care setting as part of the overall plan of care
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency in facilitating patient throughput to ensure patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care
• Focus on quality outcomes and current evidence-based practice when addressing patient needs
• Educate patients and families by individualizing education methods to ensure comprehension, including discharge-specific education that involves family and caregivers
• Evaluate patient comprehension and document education provided
• Accurately complete all required clinical and quality documentation per Riverside Health System standards and regulatory requirements
• Delegate and prioritize tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations
• Evaluate your own needs for support and use identified systems to meet those needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP)
• CPR/BLS Certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Prior experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting

Compensation

• Hourly rate: $38.60 - $53.08
• Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors including relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs
