Join Mary Washington Healthcare as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, working full-time day shifts. This Level II Competent RN position focuses on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care in a surgical setting while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to improve quality outcomes through evidence-based practice.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate nursing care, including oversight of licensed and unlicensed personnel in assigned or delegated tasks
- Use the nursing process (assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide total, continuous care for assigned patients
- Coordinate involvement of patients, families, and health team members in care planning, patient/family teaching, and discharge planning
- Communicate and coordinate the plan of care and pertinent information with other healthcare team members
- Assist leadership in defining standards of excellence for patient care and participate in improvement of patient care services
- Participate in and integrate performance improvement and quality improvement activities into care delivery
- Participate in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members
- Act as a point of contact on hospital and departmental policies and procedures for nurses and other health team members
- Participate in daily operational activities necessary for a safe patient and staff environment
- Provide input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs
- Participate in unit, departmental, and hospital committees for formulation of nursing and hospital policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with experience as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- Valid RN license from Virginia or reciprocal compact state
- AHA BLS Provider CPR certification required at hire
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for the higher pay range ($46.55 - $59.25 hourly)
- Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) acceptable for the lower pay range ($44.64 - $56.82 hourly)
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN preferred for ASN-track candidates

Compensation
- BSN: $46.55 - $59.25 hourly
- ASN: $44.64 - $56.82 hourly
