The opportunity

Job Description

Join Atrium Health Union West's Operating Room as a Registered Nurse in a dynamic, fast-paced surgical environment serving the Stallings and Matthews communities. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art surgical suite where you'll collaborate closely with highly skilled surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members to deliver outstanding patient care.

You will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making, you'll lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. Nurses work throughout the perioperative experience, partnering with Surgical Pre-Op and PACU colleagues to ensure seamless, patient-centered care from admission through recovery.

The OR team performs a variety of surgical procedures and is committed to excellence in patient safety, surgical quality, and teamwork.

Clinical Setting

Atrium Health Union West is a hospital, emergency department, and specialty care center featuring:

  • 40 licensed acute care beds (28 medical/surgical, 8 labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum, 4 ICU)
  • 10 emergency department bays open 24/7 with helipad
  • 3 operating rooms and 3 surgery suites
  • 1 cesarean delivery operating room
  • Imaging services including MRI, CT scan, X-ray, and ultrasound
  • Laboratory and pharmacy services

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
  • Active Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of nursing experience
  • Experience in Ortho, Urology, GYN, or General service lines

Schedule

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week
  • Weekdays: 0630-1700 for 3 days, plus 0630-1700 with call 1700-0700 for 1 day
  • 48-hour weekend call every 5th weekend
  • Holiday call rotation

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base compensation: $38.20 - $57.30 per hour, based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training
