The opportunity

Job Description

Banner Fort Collins Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse OR Circulator to join the Surgical Services team. In this critical role, you will serve as the primary patient advocate throughout the entire perioperative experience, from pre-operative preparation through intraoperative care and handoff to the post-anesthesia care team.

As an OR Circulator, you will coordinate and manage all aspects of the operating room environment, ensuring that every surgical procedure is conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with established standards of care. You will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, scrub technicians, surgical technologists, and support staff to deliver exceptional outcomes for every patient.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs
  • Review patient history and physical with patient and family, ensuring completion within appropriate timeframe
  • Review available information obtained by other health care team members and report abnormal diagnostic and laboratory results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
  • Formulate a plan of care, including discharge planning, utilizing assessment data and input from patient, family, and health team
  • Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities
  • Provide care based on physician orders and nursing plan of care in compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements
  • Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed
  • Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide care based on best evidence available and may participate in research activities
  • Participate in unit or facility shared leadership and education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors
  • Contribute to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care
  • Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts regarding patient health care

Clinical Setting

Banner Fort Collins Medical Center is a full-service, acute-care hospital offering emergency care, orthopedics, general surgery, women's health, gastroenterology, urology, pulmonology, intensive care, and other medical and surgical services.

Schedule

This position offers a 4 x 10-hour shift schedule on the day shift, providing excellent work-life balance. You must have flexibility and willingness to float to the Loveland Campus OR as needed to support staffing and patient care demands across the surgical services network.

Required Qualifications

  • Current, valid RN license in Colorado, temporary/interim RN license in Colorado, or compact RN licensure for Colorado
  • BLS certification
  • Prior RN OR Circulator experience required
  • Experience in acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area

Note: New graduate nurses with less than 12 months of experience are not eligible for this position.

Compensation

Estimated pay range: $36.67 - $61.11 per hour. Banner Health is committed to pay equity and transparency.
