Job Description

Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Observation unit. This is a collective bargaining unit position at a regional tertiary care facility serving a 150-mile radius of Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. St. Vincent is a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, designated STEMI Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center. The facility also partners with Nationwide Children's Hospital to provide pediatric services.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care and teaching through the nursing process
  • Direct and guide the activities of other nursing personnel
  • Maintain standards of professional nursing and established organizational policies and procedures
  • Assist in the provision of care to patients of all age groups

Required Qualifications

  • Current Ohio RN licensure
  • BLS certification
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university
  • Other certifications as required by department policy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior nursing experience

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in nursing theory and practice of the nursing process
  • Ability to meet specialty unit criteria as established for the Observation unit

Schedule

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 48 hours per pay period
  • Weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation required per department policy
