Newark Beth Israel Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse Manager for the Frederick B. Cohen Cancer Center. This full-time, day-shift position leads the Outpatient Oncology department, overseeing clinical operations across the Cancer Center, Infusion, Radiation Oncology, Hemophilia, and Finance areas. You will collaborate with the Medical Director, Director, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Hemophilia Program Manager, and Finance Manager to develop and implement patient care standards and policies that ensure quality care delivery.

Clinical Setting

The Frederick B. Cohen Comprehensive Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is a multi-disciplinary oncology program serving patients across outpatient infusion, radiation oncology, hemophilia treatment, and related services.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality care is delivered across all clinical areas of the Cancer Center, Infusion, Radiation Oncology, Hemophilia, and Finance
  • Collaborate with physicians, program managers, and finance leadership to develop and implement patient care standards and policies
  • Develop, implement, and maintain unit budgets with assistance from the Director and Assistant Vice President of Oncology
  • Directly supervise clinical team members within the Cancer and Blood Disorders Center
  • Participate in ongoing nursing quality assurance initiatives
  • Ensure all assigned departments comply with applicable policies, laws, and regulations
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, employees, physicians, patients, visitors, and guests
  • Utilize feedback to improve processes and services to meet and exceed customer needs
  • Follow through on customer requests and inquiries in a timely manner
  • Apply quality improvement principles in all work situations
  • Contribute to improving quality services and productivity by evaluating work, reporting problems, suggesting solutions, and trying new ideas
  • Effectively allocate and schedule resources to meet departmental demand
  • Adhere to budgetary guidelines and proactively manage budget variances
  • Determine priorities and organize work and time to meet them
  • Serve as mentor to direct reports and provide assistance as needed
  • Apply sound employee retention techniques including effective selection, interviewing, recognition, fair and timely discipline, and ongoing performance feedback
  • Interact constructively, tactfully, and diplomatically with others and resolve conflicts

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Active New Jersey RN license or compact RN license with New Jersey endorsement
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration certification
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Previous leadership experience (Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator, or similar role)
  • Five years of oncology experience
  • EPIC experience

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, five days per week
  • No weekends
  • Day shift

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $127,500.00 to $165,800.00 per year (based on educational background, skills, and professional experience)
